The DOUGLASS Field S Plus is a precision-made Japanese oil lighter designed for outdoor use, combining a lightweight duralumin body with everyday water-resistant construction, an integrated windscreen, and built-in storage for spare fuel and flints.

Its removable main fuel tank simplifies refilling and maintenance. The lower section also provides space for spare lighter fluid and replacement flints, allowing essential supplies to be carried within the lighter itself.

The lighter consists of 45 carefully fitted components engineered with precision down to 0.01 mm. Despite its complex internal construction, it weighs only approximately 41.82 g.

Everyday Water-Resistant Mechanism

When closed, the upper cap presses against the wick area to create a tight seal. This mechanism helps limit water entry during ordinary daily exposure and reduces the natural evaporation of lighter fluid while the lighter is stored.

The screw-lock mechanism must be released before ignition. Because the sealing structure is designed to maintain pressure around the wick, the ignition lever may feel firmer than that of a conventional oil lighter.

This product is intended to provide everyday water resistance. It should not be described or treated as completely waterproof, and it must not be submerged.

Wind-Resistant Construction

The wick is surrounded by a windscreen integrated into the lighter body. This structure helps shield the flame from wind, making the Field S Plus suitable for outdoor environments.

Performance will still vary depending on wind strength, fuel level, wick condition, and operating angle.

Flint Compatibility

The Field S Plus accepts replacement flints measuring up to approximately 3 mm in diameter.

Compatible options include:

• MARVELOUS / DOUGLASS replacement flints measuring approximately 2.9 mm in diameter
• Standard ZIPPO-style replacement flints measuring approximately 2.3 mm in diameter

Removable Fuel Tank and Storage System

The main fuel tank can be removed from the body for refilling and maintenance. The lower section also accommodates spare lighter fluid and replacement flints.

After filling the main tank, reinstall it in the following order:

1. Attach and tighten the spare fuel tank section, which also serves as the bottom cap, to the main fuel tank.
2. Insert the assembled fuel tank into the lighter body and tighten it securely.

This requires tightening the assembly twice. Do not insert the main fuel tank into the body before attaching the bottom section. Incorrect assembly may prevent the tank from seating fully and leave the ignition lever raised.

Fuel and Maintenance

This lighter is shipped without fuel. Use commercially available lighter fluid intended for refillable wick-type oil lighters.

Inspect the wick, flint, seals, and threaded sections regularly. Replace worn consumable parts with compatible components and follow the included instructions when refilling or disassembling the lighter.

Care Instructions

Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth after use. If the lighter becomes wet, dry the exterior thoroughly before storage.

Keep the threaded and sealing areas clean. Avoid abrasive cleaners, strong chemicals, impacts, and excessive force when operating or reassembling the mechanism.
