RONSON Standard Wild Brass R02-M010 Oil Lighter

The RONSON Standard Wild Brass R02-M010 is a classic flint oil lighter made from uncoated brass and intentionally left without a final polishing treatment.

Designed to preserve the natural character of the metal, the Wild Brass finish gradually changes through handling, oxidation, and everyday use. Over time, the bright brass surface develops a deeper, more subdued patina, allowing each lighter to acquire a unique appearance.

The RONSON Standard has been a long-standing favorite since its introduction in 1943. Its compact rectangular shape, distinctive ignition lever, and nostalgic mechanical design give it the unmistakable atmosphere of a classic mid-century oil lighter.

Wild Brass Finish

The lighter is made from brass without a protective coating or anti-tarnish treatment.

Rather than applying a polished or uniform surface finish, the manufacturer intentionally leaves the natural texture of the brass visible. For this reason, the lighter may already show oxidation, discoloration, fine scratches, marks, or variations in tone when new.

These characteristics are intentional features of the Wild Brass finish and are not considered defects.

How to Use

Press the ignition lever downward.

The lid opens automatically as the flint wheel rotates, producing a spark that ignites the wick.

Release the lever after use to close the lid and extinguish the flame. Always confirm that the flame has been completely extinguished before storing the lighter.

Fuel and Flint Information

The lighter is delivered without fuel.

Fill it with RONSON lighter fluid or another appropriate lighter fluid intended for refillable wick-type oil lighters before use.

The flint is a consumable component and gradually becomes shorter each time the lighter is ignited. Replace it with a compatible lighter flint when ignition becomes difficult or the flint has been depleted.
