Zippo 168 Armor Brushed Brass Lighter

The Zippo 168 Armor combines a substantially thicker case with the understated texture of brushed brass.

Its unplated brass case is protected by a light clear coating and finished with a satin-like brushed surface. The simple undecorated design highlights the natural color of the metal and also provides a suitable surface for personalized engraving.

The lighter includes a gold-toned inside unit that complements the warm brass exterior. It is made in the USA as part of Zippo’s Armor series.

Armor Construction

The Armor case is formed from brass approximately 0.75 mm thick, compared with approximately 0.5 mm for a regular Zippo case. This increased thickness gives the lighter its characteristic weight and substantial feel.

An “A” stamp on the bottom identifies it as an Armor model.

Brass Finish and Aging

The brass case is not plated. Instead, it has a light clear coating designed to help reduce discoloration when new.

Through regular handling and use, the coating may gradually wear and expose the brass beneath. The exposed areas can naturally darken or develop a patina, giving each lighter an individual appearance over time.

Fuel and Maintenance

This lighter is shipped without fuel. Zippo lighter fuel must be purchased separately after delivery.

Use appropriate lighter fuel and compatible replacement flints and wicks. Clean the case gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and strong chemicals that may damage the brushed surface or clear coating.
