The Zippo 162BK-ICE combines the substantial construction of an Armor case with a translucent-looking matte Black Ice surface.

Its PVD coating creates a dark, cool-toned appearance with a restrained sheen. The coating offers high surface hardness and improved resistance to scratches and everyday wear, while the plain design allows the distinctive Black Ice color to remain the focus.

The Armor Zippo body is made in the USA, while the matte Black Ice PVD coating is applied in Japan.

Matte Black Ice PVD Coating

PVD stands for Physical Vapor Deposition, a process used to create a thin, hard coating on the lighter’s surface.

The resulting Black Ice color has a dark, translucent-looking character reminiscent of polished ice, while the matte treatment reduces excessive reflection. Although the coating offers enhanced surface durability, it is not completely scratch-proof and may gradually show signs of handling and use.

Armor Construction

The Armor case is approximately 1.5 times thicker than a regular Zippo case. Its additional thickness and approximately 70 g weight give the lighter a substantial feel in the hand.

Fuel and Maintenance

This lighter is shipped without fuel. Zippo lighter fuel must be purchased separately after delivery.

Use appropriate lighter fuel and compatible replacement flints and wicks. Wipe the surface gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, polishing compounds, and strong chemicals that may damage the matte PVD coating.
