About the RONSON Standard

First released in 1943, the RONSON Standard quickly became one of the company's most successful lighter designs. Featuring a compact body and a refined version of the large ignition lever found on the legendary Banjo, the Standard offered both comfort and reliability in everyday use.

Its innovative one-motion mechanism allows ignition and extinguishing to be performed through a single coordinated action. Pressing the lever rotates the flint wheel, generates a spark, and simultaneously opens the cap. Releasing the mechanism extinguishes the flame as the cap closes, creating the smooth operation that has become a hallmark of RONSON engineering.
